Did You Know About the Hidden Gem of a Campground Called Thunder Canyon?
There’s a new campground that’s only been open about a year, but it is a stunning beauty of a place and it’s in Ider, Alabama.
This property is a members only RV park, but it is worth the price of entry and some. It’s called Thunder Canyon.
There are over 200 acres on the property and it has trails where you can actually see waterfalls. My photos can not do this place justice I assure you.
Our campsite felt like we were very far from our neighbors, almost remote yet within walking distance of the main gathering area where you can go for breakfast fellowship that happens most every morning when they have their events planned.
It’s not just the physical beauty of this place either. It’s the people too.
John and Mercedes Condon are YouTube sensations called The RV Odd Couple who, along with their daughter Sage, dog Skippy, packed up all their belongings to travel the U.S. in their RV and took us along for the ride.
They are wildly popular perhaps because they are funny, quirky, and offer unvarnished advice about the dos and don’ts of RV life. Or maybe it’s because their advice is spot on and the chemistry between the two of them is infectious. No matter, I find them consistently entertaining, and apparently so do tens of thousands of their followers.
I don’t have the formula for their success, I just know they really have something here and it’s God blessed and you can feel it in the very atmosphere of Thunder Canyon.
Along the way they decided they wanted to buy land they could build a campground on and Thunder Canyon was born.
My husband and I recently visited for too short of a visit but as members, we will be back. You should consider a membership and visit too!
