Needle Felting

The art of needle felting or “Painting with Wool” is using dyed wool roving, placing it on a canvas, then taking a special felting needle that has serrations and stabbing it hundreds or thousands of times to create a picture.

I stumbled upon this wonderous world when at age 58 I had to have foot surgery and the doctor told me three months no walking. I found a kit for needle felting a dog. While convalescing, I made this cute little dog and decided I loved the 3-D sculpture of this process and began researching this genre. What absolutely fascinated me however was the landscape works of fiber artists and this led me to what I do today.
