It all started with needle felting. I entered the East Lansing, MI Art Festival because my brother-in-law suggested it. I was one of ten chosen in their emerging artist category much to my shock and awe. That was May 2015, I was 58 years old. I had never had an art lesson in my life and had only started needle felting months prior. It opened the world of art for me so I began branching out with watercolors because it enabled me to express this new way of seeing the world and translating it creatively in a quicker fashion. I love the lengthy process of Needle Felting, this is just an alternate way of mind doodling. I keep practicing and attempting to give this wonderful art form some justice as for me it is the hardest of all to even come close to mastering. I do enjoy the work and toil as for me picking up the paint brush is like a day at the spa.
